And when you finally pull yourself from the shadows of all that could’ve been and the reality of all that isn’t – do it again. Let love in. Let it wash over you like a sinner’s prayer. Hear the bells toll as you stand and mourn those who live in fear of never falling. For that is the true tragedy of heartbreak – to permit the actions of fools to dictate your joy. Demand better. Settle for nothing. But until the moment your heart no longer pumps, let love in. Always let love in and let it break you. The pain you feel will never stop chasing perfection. The edges will be jagged. The pieces may never fit together again but there is beauty in the broken.
