That last little bit of hope I was clinging to I let go of. Just let me drown because there’s no hope for me now. I lost my heart in a game of poker. A game I used to play so well. I cashed in my chips before I knew the hand I had been dealt. So it’s my fault not yours. Just let me fade away just as it turns from day to night. Let me become one with the dark. I don’t need your light anymore. I taught myself to see in the shadows. I am fine without you…just for once, let me go. Don’t hold me telling me things will be ok. You gave me the stars then took them away. But without the stars, I am lost. But I am beginning to feel right at home. -K.H.
