The June Dyan Moon is the divine, bright moon. It embodies the magic and fullness of life. Traditionally, this moon is called the Strawberry Moon, Meade Moon, and Honey Moon (this was the month of marriages and where the term honeymoon originated). June is the month of long days and short nights hosting Midsummer, the midpoint of the year. The moon and sun share the evening and night sky and is why this moon is often named the Dyad Moon as well. However, with the representation of both God and Goddess in the sky, the Dyan Moon symbolizes the perfection and harmony of the Creators that was bestowed upon Earth in their dual, celestial nature. The Goddess Shekinah, the first connection of God, the first emanation thought to creation, represents Eternal Life and Light and is our progenitor of the Dyan Moon.
Shekinah is revered as the Light of Life in the Talmud of Judaic Rabbinic literature. In the beginning, light was born from the words of Elohim. That light brought forth was the Shekinah. She is the feeling of oneness with the creator God, Yahweh as she represents the Sabbath Bride. Shekinah evokes peace, tranquility, and calmness upon those that worship her. She is symbolized as the Tree of Life in Kabbalah and represented by doves.
